The program will involve training 100 people on the cultivation of general medicinal herbs including herbs for birthing and teas. There will be establishment of two (2) traditional herbal nursery beds from which a supply of seedlings, seeds and cuttings will be shared with 100 people who have places to plant. 2 newsletters will be published and radio talk shows created to inform different communities on medicinal herbs cultivation and importance.
The goal is to support 100 households owning gardens of different medicinal plants. Once these gardens are visible for people in the urban setting, more people will learn from these direct beneficiaries, starting their own gardens. The project is hoping this will launch thousands of gardens of different medicinal herbs. It will also promote knowledge and skills about cultivation of medicinal plants in an urban setting.
